Bullpen almost blew another big lead today, what else is new?? At least we are beating up on the White Sox like we should be and won all 3 games against them so far.

Britton continues to prove that not only is he by far the top rookie in the league but he is also one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.

Dan Klein was promoted to Double A Bowie. He completely dominated Single A so I'm not surprised by the move at all.
Manny Machado hit his 5th HR today. He is living up to expectations so far as he continues to dominate in Single A.

Dan Klein will be in AAA by the end of the year. They knew he would be a fast mover through the system, and he hasnt surprised them .
Machado is raping rofl, cannot wait for him to be up although thats still ways away

Well, they are trying to stretch him out this year in the bullpen so that he can become a starter next season. At least that was the plan before the season. I'm not sure if that has changed or not with him dominating as a reliever.

Alfredo Simon is almost ready to start pitching and he is being converted into a starter again. I know he wasn't anything special as a starter but I would much rather him make a spot start if there is another injury than anyone else in AAA.

Matusz pitching an extended ST game on the 7th and then going on his rehab assignment.

We are now 13-13 after 26 games which is pretty damn good considering our schedule has been one of the toughest in the league these first 26 games. If someone would have told me that in our first 26 games Matusz and Duke would not combine to throw one pitch, Hardy would only play in 6 games, Markakis and Jones would both be under .210, and Andino would have the highest batting average on the team I would question their sanity if they said we would be 13-13. Things are finally looking up in Birdland.

I like the move of having Simon as a starter. He has starter stuff... 4-seam, 2-seam, hard slider, splitter, split changeup... He's still young, and honestly, we can move him back to the bullpen whenever we want.
It's a good move by the organization, especially since our starting staffs in the minors are depleted.

I wonder how long they will keep Machado in Delmarva if he keeps hitting like this. I know the plan was to keep him there until the break and then call him up to Frederick but it's beyond obvious to anyone that has seen him play this season that this kid is the real deal. Supposedly from everyone that sees most of his games all he does is continue to impress with the glove as he makes amazing plays look routine and even when he is getting out he is killing the ball. He might be able to force his way onto Frederick pretty soon and if he can rake there possibly even be in Bowie by the end of the season. Either way it looks like he is on the fast track to Baltimore and will be in Bowie by next season at the latest.

One more question that I forgot to ask in my last post.

Have any of you been to Frederick to see the Keys?? If Machado and Schoop get promoted I'll be pretty interested in getting down there on a night when Bundy is starting.
