Good lord what a haul.

Considering what we gave up for Chapman in the offseason, this was some really nice work by Cashman lol. Also we got back the centerpiece we gave the Cubs in the Starlin Castro trade.

Essentially just became:

Two months of Aroldis Chapman and Brendan Ryan (Yankees spare part prospects-- Rookie Davis, Eric Jagielo, etc.)
FOR
Starlin Castro, Gleyber Torres, Billy McKinney and player to be named

hmm Rojas is reporting a different package with Dylan Cease instead of McKinney. I'd be on board for that as well. Cease has monster upside.

It's a great trade for the Yankees but desperately needed by the Cubs. Torres was blocked even if it takes him 3 years to reach the majors.

Wish the contract extension would have also came with the trade though.

I agree. Cubs are dealing from a position of strength and it was a trade they absolutely had to make. This is an excellent deal for both sides considering the positions they are in. Chapman isn't just a 'reliver', he's a game changer.

Now if only we could send a package for wade Davis now centered around soler.

I can't imagine the Royals dealing Davis for anything less than what the Yankees were asking for Miller(Schwarber ++).
