This is not only on extrapolation but on the production he has already had.

By age, Trout was the best ever through his 21 year old season, 22 year old season, and as long as he can manage 23 games worth of similar production over the next 73 games, will be THE best ever through his age 23 season. No player from our lifetime is in the top 5 for any of those.
Now forget about age, talking peaks or whatever.
Only 11 players in the history of baseball have had 3 consecutive seasons better than Trout at any point in their careers and only 5 more have had 3 seasons at any point in their careers which were better than Trout's first 3 full seasons.
