We're talking about this season, a healthy shields > Medlen
Medlen doesn't even pitch till ASB that's why I rank them so low.

Medlen can surely push them to the next level but even without him the team is still very good. Shields is always healthy, and that's what he's got going for him, but just look at his stats, he's replaceable.

The nl central is a fucking toss up. I think cardinals will win but wouldn't be surprised if they finished 4th. It's that wide open

Fair reasoning, and the offense is ridiculous, I am just not yet sold on Garret Richards, Matt Shoemaker, or even CJ Wilson, not to mention Heaney. The middle infield is also the worst its been in a while. Bullpen on the other hand looks to be pretty good. They're a good team, and could very well pass the A's…but they also didn't do much. Traded Howie and traded for Rutledge? What else did they really do? Just by the A's getting Ben Zobrist they had a better off-season than the Angels. But it is close and I see your points.

Well it wasn't a fluke..they won 86 games the year before last year and you placing them fourth most likely has them going below 500, which just ain't gonna happen, especially in this division.

Rios is much better than Aoki, offensively. He had a 800+ OPS before he got injured last year at mid-season, so even amongst the worst year of his career he really wasn't as bad as you think.

As a whole, Butler is probably better, but a 100% healthy Butler did horrible last year. I guarantee Morales does much better this year than Butler last year (that doesn't exactly mean Morales is better, heck Butler may do better than Morales this season, which would be much better than 2014 Butler). And that alone was my reason for saying Morales > Butler. Comparing it to the 2014 Royals, the 2015 Royals will be much better offensively.

Shields is much more durable than Medlen, but if you put them both together healthy, Medlen's stuff is arguably better. He is also the 6th starter, a real crapshoot but could end up being the Shields replacement. Either way, the Royals have the best all-around team in the division. They've already been ranked as the #1 bullpen and #1 defense going into 2015, they have a just outside top-10 farm system with MLB ready prospects, their offense is going to be much better than the one that got them to the World Series, and there is depth all around.

Then again, I probably came on here at the same point last year and tried to argue similar things about the Royals, but just go back and see how many people besides myself thought KC won the Shields trade? How many people besides myself thought KC would make the postseason? Did I not say Duffy was great? Did I not say Ventura was great? Did I not say they had the #1 bullpen and #1 defense at that point? The reactions of y'all are the same every year, so if you want something to laugh at, Just take a look at the Mariners outfield...or the Mariners infield outside of Cano...Or the Mariners rotation outside of Felix and Iwakuma...or the Mariners bullpen...or the fact they haven't finished less than 10 games back in the division in nearly a fucking decade.

Aoki had a 98 wrc+ last year and 100 the year before, Rios had a 98 and 104... He's so much better!
Butler had a 95 wrc+ last year... Do you know what kendrys had? 75... LOL.

I wasn't laughing at the royals nor was I commenting on the projections of the teams. I was laughing at how horrible kemdrys did and you thinking he will be an upgrade over butler.

You're silly if you think the mariners infield is bad, it's not the best but it's certainly not worse than average.

Lol you realize our rotation and bullpen was one of the best in baseball right? It didn't get any worse this year...

1. Rios was injured the entire second half, even when he played. Read what I said. His OPS was near 800 before he got injured. So in what is the worst year of the guy's career, he was posting above average numbers. At the break he was hitting over 300 with 16SB and on track for 200+ hits. So your statistics are fucking worthless without context.

2. Kendrys wasn't signed until mid-season, had no Spring, had no workout facility or team, had no practice whatsoever. EVERY single full-season of his career, his SLG has been above 450. Once again, without context, your statistics are fucking useless. Butler's had three consecutive years of 100% health and ridiculous decline, a factor you couldn't even attribute to Morales. I love Billy, but the Royals made the World Series with the posting a 700 OPS. Once again, I can guarantee you, bet you whatever you want, that Morales will do better than Butler did last season. As well as Rios over Aoki's 2014. So by definition, holding everything else constant, the Royals will be a better offensive team in 2015. Kendry's had a reason to do horrible, Butler did not. That simple.

3. It will be worse by the sole fact that they were so good. If you really think Tijuan Walker is going to do just as good or better than the 2.8 he posted last year, you're nuts. Even someone as godly as King Felix did WAY better last year than he had just about every year prior. There is pretty much zero chance he can do just as good as a 6.2 WAR, 2.1 ERA, and a 2.5 xFIP. Even if he regresses back to 2013 numbers it's still one of the best in the game, but it's still regression. Iwakuma could possibly repeat but last year itself doesn't show much hope: he regressed ridiculously during the first half and second half. Even Rodney has the best season of his career. If you're counting on someone with a career 3.6 FIP to post another 2.84, good luck, you'll need it.

You probably wouldn't even believe who had the second longest average fly ball distance in baseball last year, even in front of Bautista?

Kendrys Morales.

It's going to be a doubles field day in Kauffman.

My phone is acting up and I'm at work so I can't adequately have this debate with you right now, but I'll make a half assed attempt.

1) Over the last two years Rios and Aoki have been the same (basically because 4 wrc+ over two years is nothing)

2) Butler is 28 Morales is a fat 31 year old with declining contact abilities. Nobody gives a fuck how far you can the ball if you rarely ever make contact.

3) Our pitching staff didn't even feature walker last year... He pitched a minimum number of games. Elias and Paxton both had very promising seasons. Theres a difference between preforming not as well and being laughable... With Felix, kuma, and Happ we already have an average rotation, sure there are questionmarks but by no means is our team laughable in any aspect. Or OF depth is questionable but the starters and platoon should be average. Our bullpen is above average, they might not have the same era but their strength is still there, our infield has two guys who got 5+ war... That's not laughable by any means.

Except the Yankees, Phillies, and Astros yeah. The league has so much more parity now, it's fun to be a baseball fall not solely a big market team fan.
