It doesn't and you're doing everything to defend this stupid decision.
Second best pitcher pitches in game 2..
If he doesn't, and the Phillies lose game 2, essentially losing the series while nola hasn't pitched, then it's a fireable.
Splitting up R/L/R/L is key.

Sanchez has been absolutely NASTY at home and struggles on the road. He's also not experienced in these situations, this is his first postseason start. He has only made one postseason appearance in his career and pitched 2 innings in a relief role last season.
With these factors, you'd have to be insane to think it makes sense to start him on the road in NY. Give Nola, a seasoned vet who has been here and been in those spots, the tough start on the road. Also give Ranger that other road start in game 4, because he's proven in those spots as well in the playoffs (hopefully he's back to himself).
Aside from "second best pitcher should pitch game 2" what other reason do you have to counter my above points? It makes complete sense to give Sanchez game 2 considering the above facts. Nola would only make one start this series regardless of when, so who cares???? This is a best of 5 series, not best of 7.
