Nothing impressive at all about that save. Got the 8 and 9 hitters out on the worst offensive team in baseball at this point and then almost gave up a home run to Span.

nothing at all.
i literally just started yelling fuck as soon as span hit that ball

Zach Britton is the latest Oriole to be slowed by flu-like symptoms, but he took the ball tonight and turned in his third quality start in four outings.

"It could have been better," he said. "I wasn't happy with the walks, especially with the 5-1 lead and you put guys on base and it ends up being a close game like that, so I wasn't happy with the wildness. But we scored a lot of runs and kept us in the game.

"I'm exhausted. I was hacking up I don't even know what in the dugout. I'm pretty weak."

makes the start even better

Tomorrow's game is huge. Guthrie on the mound and a win puts the O's back at .500 heading into the next 6 games vs NYY and BOS.

Going to be tough to win the series against NYY with Bergesen, Tillman, and Arrieta as the 3 starters but crazier things have happened.

I really can't wait for Matusz to get back. He'll be in Baltimore tomorrow, throw some on Friday, and will start throwing off a mound next week as long as there isn't any setbacks. After that he is likely 2 or 3 rehab starts away from rejoining the team. Once he gets back we won't have to deal with Bergesen and Tillman pitching back-to-back since one of them will either be in the bullpen or in Norfolk.

This most likely means Fox is going to catch one of the gamea because of a day after a night game. So he's going to catch Tillman or Arrieta. Or maybe Wieters catches all of the gamez in the New York series with a day off on Monday.

i swear to god if fox catches arrieta again....

and larry bowa is fucking retarded.
he just was like "i want to see britton pitch against a good team, thats patient. and then said he has pitched against kc and cleveland."
well first off larry, he hasnt pitched against KC since we havent played them
secondly im pretty sure those 7+ innings of not run ball against the Rangers was legit.

I was watching Baseball Tonight while I was doing dishes (can't afford MLB Network, lol), and all the guys did was talk throughout the highlights about how Minnesota is injured with Mauer and Morneau. No mention of how Britton did, the home runs, nah.
ESPN is a joke.

At least say something about what happened in the game... like Cuddyer getting his first RBI or something.
Shit annoys me.

It's about time to see the offense string together 2 games.

And another win for Britton (3-1), at this pace he'll win AL rookie of the year.
