I don't know about tonight. Astros are 1.6:1 underdogs at San Francisco -- partly because their MLB worst record, not to mention their historically bad 9-33 road record, which is only three games off the worst road record of all-time through 42 road games played so far.

But really, Tim Lincecum is pathetic. What is he this year, 3-10 with a 6.42 ERA?

The Astros may sneak out a rare road win tonight -- probably worth the gamble at 1:1.6 odds in their favor. But if there's any team Lincecum should be able to turn things around against it's the Houston Astros. Tim Lincecum is 5-0 with a 1.14 ERA in his career against the Astros.

So I have no idea. This game could go either way but probably the Giants will win because Lucas Harrell is absolute trash pitching on the road this year.

Our offense is garbage, no matter who is pitching, so G's got this, and we are well on our way to getting that 1st draft pick

Giants did everything they could to blow that one but the Astros lose as expected. 3-2 Giants in 12 innings.

LOL, we'll have the first overall pick locked up by my birthday on August 15. We can probably win some games in September without fear of losing it. Should have let Lincecum finish the complete game shutout but he was gased after 8 innings. 114 pitches thrown. 11 Ks for him. It was his best start this year.

Id go as far to say we have the 1st draft pick locked up, barring a crazy winning streak

9-34 on the road. We should lose 60 on the road this year. 21-60 is very likely at best. They may not even win 20 on the road this year, LOL

id say 15-66 is more of a likely road win/loss ratio this year.

Any chance the Astros can defeat Matt Cain today? Or will he toss another perfect game? LOL, why are the odds only 2.2:1 favoring the Giants? I'd offer 3:1 odds on a small bet (120 vs. 40). Or something along those lines. I've still got 120 coming from last night's Giants win over the Astros.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Astros shortstop and No. 3 hitter Jed Lowrie said his entire right leg felt sore after he sprained his ankle and hurt his knee on a collision at second base that forced him out of Saturday night's game, and possibly to the disabled list.

Lowrie, who was standing with the aid of crutches in the clubhouse following a 3-2, 12-inning loss to the Giants, said he had undergone X-rays, but the results were not announced.

"My knee and ankle both hurt," Lowrie said. "I can't really tell you which is worse."
Tough break for Jed Lowrie last night. Spraining his ankle and also hurting his knee. We lost our chance to trade him for a couple of decent prospects and he'll probably leave in free agency this winter. The man was on pace to break Miguel Tejada's franchise record for most home runs hit in one season by an Astros shortstop.

He's been injury-prone his entire career. I can see why Boston fans were frustrated by him. He has a body made out of glass.

Can't wait until the Carlos Correa era starts. He'll likely have the franchise record for most homers by an Astros shortstop in a career and for a season.

That was him a couple days ago taking some hacks at the Astros Single A rookie camp. Seems to have a good sense of the strike zone and some plate discipline. 17 years old, 6'4 and 190. Just ridicilous size for a shortstop. He's still going to grow for a couple more years. Could be 6'6 and 205 by the time he reaches the show. He is going to be a monster for the position? LOL

We're going to have the best 6-4-3 double play in baseball for the next 10-plus years with Correa, Altuve and Singleton. Finally we've got that foundation again. Reminds me of the early 90s when the Astros had a young Caminiti, Biggio and Bagwell. Something to at least be excited about. I'm sure the Astros don't want to rush Jonathan Singleton and Carlos Correa but I'd like to see both in the big leagues by 2014. The 20-year-old, slugging first baseman Singleton could make the 2013 roster out of spring training.

I can't wait until we add hometown kid Mark Appel number one overall in next year's draft. We need young pitching now.

Houston starts a four-game series at San Diego tonight. A lot is on the line to say the least.

Monday: July 16, 2012 - Houston at San Diego - 10:05 PM Eastern
J.A. Happ (6-9, 5.14 ERA) versus Kip Wells (1-2, 2.50 ERA)

Tuesday: July 17, 2012 - Houston at San Diego - 10:05 PM Eastern
Jordan Lyles (2-5, 5.08 ERA) versus Ross Ohlendorf (2-0, 7.41 ERA)

Wednesday: July 18, 2012 - Houston at San Diego - 3:35 PM Eastern
Wandy Rodriguez (7-7, 3.51 ERA) versus Clayton Richard (6-10, 3.83 ERA)

Thursday: July 19, 2012 - Houston at San Diego - 10:05 PM Eastern
Lucas Harrell (7-6, 4.43 ERA) versus Edinson Volquez (5-7, 3.69 ERA)

The race for the first overall pick in 2013. Houston has it for now but San Diego isn't far back. Who wants it more in this series?

1. Astros 33-56
2. Rockies 34-54
3. Padres 36-54

It's way too close between the three worst teams in baseball. But in reality I know the Astros got this. Almost critical for the Astros to play poorly and lose this series. They shouldn't score many runs at Petco Park so we'll see. I feel pretty confident in our ability to keep tanking and losing road games.
