True, but R.A. Dickey holds so much nostalgic piece of my soul in me. We gave him up, but at least we got back Thor.

Dickey said there is only one team that he would come back to forego his retirement, and it's the Mets.

Oh man, oh man, when I read that I cried a little :(

Bartolo would also be a solid piece, but he's loving it up in there apparently. Says the fans treats him well, and he gets to pitch whenever he wants.

Eh. I want new pitching..younger.

I hereby declare my availability as a starting pitcher/mop up man.
Willing to play for a small fraction of Vargas' salary with similar results.

I agree with the needing more opportunities. A lot of guys need more opportunities. Look at Conforto and look at how great he's becoming. Just needs to be more patient with his fielding.

As much as I hated Chipper Jones, I respected him for what he did for our city in 9/11. Braves have always been a class A organization. Shame, Atlanta in general just cannot see that.

Braves are definitely the next team to beat along with the Nationals this year. So we'll see.

Harvey is gone.

He just got DFA'd and he refused to play in the minors.

Finally...

Thank you Harvey for 13 and 15... You were magical, but holy crap has anyone ever been so self-absorbed and full of themselves with ego, that they couldn't take a minor league assignment, and try to come back? Smoltz and Roy Halladay all agreed to do that, and look at where they are..

But this is what I'll say in Thank you to Harvey:
Thank you Harvey Day, when we didn't have anything else to watch.

Thank you for the 2013 All Star Game.

For overruling Boras and pitching till the end in the 2015 playoffs

For Game One of the NLCS and Game Five of the World Series where you absolutely dominated the game.

For giving us hope when we didn’t have any.

It sucks that it all came apart. I wish someone like Harvey could've realized even at his form right now, if he tried his best. And that he maybe needs to think a bit less of himself. But in ten years, I think there will be plenty of positive things to remember. Good luck, Matt. Here’s hoping you still have something left somewhere else.

Matt Harvey was shat on by the fans for thinking about his future and possibly shutting himself down in 2015

But instead decided to power through and go from 0 striaght to 200+ innings in one year, just for the team.

Then, possibly as a result of that quick jump in innings, his arm fell apart, and he gave absolutely everything he had to try to come back from TOS, but was shat on by the fans for pitching poorly anyway.

He gave everything he had come back from those issues as fast as possible to pitch for this team, despite physical conditions that took everything he had away from him, but was still labeled as "lazy" or "selfish" or "not a team player." He went out there and took beating after beating in 2017 and faced the media after every single one, sad, dejected, and clearly lost, but people can’t understand why he wouldn’t want to talk to the media about his outings anymore.

But his three-year run from 2012-2015 was some of the best pitching this franchise has ever seen, and he delivered one of the best postseason performances in this team’s history when he was clearly running on E for the season (check out his Game 1 performance in that World Series). That his Mets career has ended the way it has means he will now be derided forever by much of the fanbase because he had an "ego," instead of appreciated for what he did on the field for 2.5 years and the 2015 postseason. And it’s a damn travesty.

Welp.

Wheeler just gave up 8 runs in 6 innings.

Sigh..
