Collins is a complete tool, but while the bull pen for the Nats and Mets are horrible, the Mets managed to stay afloat despite Niese's breakdown.

I'm thinking we need to resign Cespedes. At this point, I'm considering the MVP for the Mets without a doubt. Hes re energized our stagnant offense, and made defenses stick to him as the biggest threat giving more breathing room for other hitters. Duda and Granderson are definitely benefiting from not having to carry the load, and less pressure.

I'm just hoping Cespedes believes he can build something in New York versus Detroit, which he fondly remembers as his favorite team.

I was thinking about a healthy team of Duda, Granderson, Wright, Flores, Conforto, Cespedes, and then for backup you got Uribe, Johnson, and Cuddyer. Jesus.

I still think that team is better than 07 and 08, simply cause we have a far deeper bench.

Harvey will be pitching tonight.

And I'm excited for the potential win, and also saddened to see how much of a jackass Harvey has become.

As New Yorkers we've allowed him to create this fucking super hero persona, and this superficial and egoistical attitude that Harvey is above the fans.

Nope.

You may make the money you're dead set on, but fans will determine whether or not we'll welcome back with open arms, or being flamed and booed with the anger of Yankees and Mets fans alike.

Boras will certainly make sure he gets his paid dues, but Harvey really fucked it up. I honestly don't see him coming back, and I think Alderson will find the right team with the right assets as he once did with R.A. Dickey, (who I wouldn't be opposed to bringing back btw,) and hopefully its not the Yankees or a NL east division team.

Doesn't really mean shit though...

I mean I kind of jumped up at it, but... What it really tells me is its up to Cespedes regardless...

Hes 29, and going to be 30 soon... Hes going to want to cash in, so... It basically tells me if Cespedes doesn't get outbid by 29 other teams, then the Mets win.

I just don't see the Mets shelling that money, nor do I see Cespedes that infatuated with the Mets enough to take a discount.

We'll see though. This certainly gives us a better chance of re-signing, but ultimately Cespedes is in full control here.

I see the Mets offering 7/140, which Cespedes will vehemently turn down.

what do you mean it doesn't mean shit lol.....we had 5 days post-world series to re-sign him before this happened. AKA literally 0-chance he would've came back..

this at least gives us the possibility of letting him get wined and dined then returning to the mets
