Three-run shot for Jon Singleton. The rookie has to come alive again. He's been in a three-week slump.

9-2 Astros in the top of the 4th

Jeez. I guess the Rangers may end up with the first overall pick in the 2015 draft. They are badddddddd

At least the Astros ended their long losing streak beating the Rangers, 12-7

Jon Singleton finished 3-for-4 with that three-run homer and an RBI double (4 RBIs). He also drew a walk. Hopefully that will get him going. He has 6 home runs and 20 RBIs in 33 games played. He needs to step it up. Poor batting average.

It's all a learning process. We need George Springer and Jon Singleton to become good 3 and 4 hitters in the long run. They both have good power and have displayed it as rookies but I expect them to become .300 type hitters as well. Right now they are far away from that.

He's hit a pair of three-run homers since the 4th of July. Off to a great start this month. Hopefully he has turned the corner.

George Springer just smashed his 18th homer 452 feet. The average length of his homers this year: 425 feet.

Two spots open in the home run derby contest. He should receive an invite, IMO.

Super glad I didn't trade him this off season for his prospect value. He's worth a lot now.

He's on pace to hit 30+ home runs as a rookie. The Astros' rookie record is 21 home runs hit by Lance Berkman in 2000. He may pass that before July is over. The Astros can sweep the Rangers tomorrow night and pass the Rangers in the standings (no more AL West cellar), but it's going to be a great pitching matchup: Dallas Keuchel (8-5, 3.06) versus Yu Darvish (8-4, 2.63). Runs should be hard to come by.

Here's the 18th home run George Springer hit last night on the Spanish telecast. No English version is available.

He went to straight away center field...

This was the 17th homer he hit at Anaheim in the previous series. I forgot to post this one.

7/4/14: George Springer ties the game in the 4th inning with a two-run shot to left-center field for his 17th home run of the season

Another hit for Altuve. A double. This game is nuts. It's 4-3 Rangers in the top of the 3rd.
Not the pitching duel I was expecting. Both Yu Darvish and Dallas Keuchel are getting hit.
