We can't win anymore. We don't deserve to be on Sports Illustrated. At least we sent Robbie Grossman down but we called up L.J. Hoes, and not the 21-year-old Domingo Santana who has drawn comparisons to a young Vladimir Guerrero.

We need this kid in left field before the season is over. He is on the 40-man roster. He has to adjust to the rookie life like Springer and Singleton.7 runs total in our last 6 games and 1-8 record in our last 9 games. We need to do something..

We were close to moving out of the AL West cellar two weeks ago. Now we still have a chance to end up with the first overall pick AGAIN.

Domingo Santana hit his 12th homer earlier tonight at Triple A with 21 doubles. We need to end 2014 with this young team to go into 2015 with some experience.

On the right track but it needs more acceleration. You can't pamper these exciting prospects when our starting left fielder was hitting .158

Jose Altuve is on pace to break Craig Biggio's franchise record for most hits in a season. Also may become second player in last 58 years to lead the league in batting average, hits and stolen basses.

6-1 Astros win to avoid the sweep against the Braves

George Springer hit his 15th home run

Jose Altuve had two more hits, two more stolen bases.

Jarred Cosart has won four straight starts.

In the time Cosart made his last three starts, from June 14 on, the Astros have won only three games — his. Win, four-game losing streak, win, four-game losing streak, win.

Astros just had a funk is all. The starting pitching is excellent and our bats will come around.

We're going to pass the Rangers before the season is over.

LOL. Springer and Singleton busting out the moves. It was from this past weekend at Tampa Bay.

Another double for Domingo Santana last night. He's spraying the ball over the place with power at Triple-A Oklahoma City. We need this kid hitting in the middle of our order. I don't care if he's 21 years old it's time. He has nothing left to prove at AAA. Time to adjust to the big league life. He'll struggle just like Springer and Singleton but then he'll make his adjustments.

It's important the Astros go into the off-season with their three top rookies having gotten their feet wet.

They can enter 2015 with a bit of excitement and promise.

A top 6 in the batting order of Fowler, Altuve, Springer, Singleton, Santana, Castro sounds pretty good to me. All of a sudden Dominguez and Carter wouldn't hurt us so much swinging for the fences in the 7 and 8 spots. They strike out too much trying to hit home runs but as a 7 and 8 hitter that's okay in the American League.

I still can't believe the Phillies traded Jarred Cosart, Jon Singleton and Domingo Santana for Hunter Pence.

That trade is going to come back to bite the Phillies. Cosart is our hottest pitcher right now.

It's a long way out there at Minute Maid Park.

Jose Altuve had 4 more hits last night. He leads the American League in hits with 111 and batting average with .342. Also has a league leading 32 stolen bases. It's not not even the all-star break yet. His on-base percentage is higher than fellow superstar second baseman Robinson Cano. He reached over 500 career hits faster than Mr. 3000 Craig Biggio did.

6/27/14: Jason Castro smashes a walk-off, solo home run to right off Blaine Hardy in the 11th, giving the Astros a 4-3 win over the Tigers

The Astros are progressing but tough one run losses like yesterday (bullpen meltdown) continue to set them back. They had Max Scherzer on the ropes early with a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, but allowed him to strikeout 13 batters through 7 solid innings and the Tigers scored 3 runs in the top of the 9th to pull out a 4-3 win.

I think we can still catch the Texas Rangers in the standings before the 2014 season is over.
