The Texas Rangers still aren't certain who their five starting pitchers will be to start the season. Neftali Feliz will get his shot Wednesday, and as a result of that competition, the club's closer role is also undecided.
If Feliz makes the rotation, and it appears the Rangers' brass would like that to happen, tweets SI.com's Jon Heyman, arms such as Alexi Ogando, Mark Lowe, Pedro Strop and perhaps Tanner Scheppers will be considered for the ninth-inning role, though the club may prefer to send Scheppers back to Triple-A to use in the rotation.
Lowe is coming off back surgery and has never displayed the kind of command a club typically prefers in a stopper at the end of games, and Ogand and Strop lack the experience in the late innings.
If The Rangers wish to look to make a deal to acquire help, there could be a few available closers with proven track records, including San Diego's Heath Bell. But a lot could weigh on Feliz's first spring start, and every appearance he makes thereafter.
