O's expected to announce Koji signing today.

As for the 1B market....
They have now lost out on dunn/pena/konerko and apparently laroche is close to signing with the nats.

Let's hope he doesn't go to San Diego.
If he does, would you be okay with Luke Scott playing 1B, and maybe picking up a full-time right-handed DH like Vlad?

i wouldnt mind that, but i would prefer luke DHing so we can bench him on his typical cold streaks.'
I really hope the O's have something up their sleeves. Because if they lose out of Dlee then i will be upset (unless they trade for fielder LOL)

Fielder would be fantastic, but I think we would be getting ahead of ourselves.
Personally, I wouldn't mind having Luke Scott as our first baseman. His cold streaks were very minimal this past year, and I think he's underrated defensively.
I see him as one of those types who'd do anything to get into the field. I can see him taking pride in his defense. He isn't a half-bad left fielder; he's just slow for the position.

yea you are right. he was actually more consistent last year. It really seemed after that hamstring injury he came back and was hot the rest of the way. Luke is a very competitive guy, and if not my favorite Oriole, probably 2nd or 3rd.

lol btw im def putting my last.fm link in my profile, good idea.

I honestly think Luke will up his stats again this season. His RBI, BA, and HR numbers have increased every year while playing in the AL East. This either means he's figured out the pitching and adjusting, or just getting that mental block out of his head.
I saw him drive the ball to left field a lot this past year. If he takes that approach every time, his numbers will be massive -- he won't have to play with that big shift every at-bat.

He was not born here. ... That's my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go — within 10 minutes — to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, "See? Look! Here it is. Here it is." The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn't answer anything. And why? Because he's hiding something.

You know what? People who have bad intentions, people that are deceivers or are not of honor and integrity — that's how they act. I've seen it in every — it doesn't matter what level. It can be in politics, it can be in business, it can be in sports, it can be in the construction field. Doesn't matter. It's all the same attitude. It's the same thing.

Scott, coming off perhaps his finest season yet in 2010 with Baltimore, also said Obama doesn't represent freedom or free enterprise, but rather "represents 'Hey, everyone. Give me votes and I'll give you stuff.' And there's even people on TV who [are asked], "Hey, who you voting for?" "

"I'm voting for Obama."

"Why?"

"So I can get more free stuff."
