I love K-Rob as much as the next person but the logic behind letting him leave was sound. Yankees biggest strength by far is their bullpen, and they have a TON of bullpen depth even in the minors. Letting K-Rob walk and getting a draft pick while signing Miller who's younger and has performed as well, if not better, for much less was a smart baseball move.

With all that said, I'll miss K-Rob dearly.

I think an underrated aspect of our team going into next season will be the defense. The infield will be covered by above average defenders across the diamond. Upgrading Solarte/Johnson with Headley, Jeter with Didi, and Roberts with Drew is 4-6 win improvement by itself. While Teix isn't the player he used to be, he can still play his position very well. Couple that with two gold glove caliber outfielders in Gardner and Ellsbury and one of the top defensive catchers in McCann and the Yankees have one of the better defensive units in the league for the first time since... 96? Beltran is the only liability in the field but having Chris Young available off the bench for late-inning defensive replacements should help mitigate that. The groundball heavy pitching staff will be very pleased.

This is true, it's the inconsistent as fuck offense that will be the main issue, not the bullpen/defense.
