Not really a fan of the Headley trade as I would have been years ago when he wasn't injury prone and hitting well in PETCO. Out of all the pitchers though, I love Greene. The slider/two seamer combination has been lethal and he has shown he can pitch well with RISP. But this offense is just horrid to watch right now.
Headley is a big time improvement on this team regardless. You have to remember that HIROK, McCarthy and Greene are big time groundball pitchers so having a strong infield defense is very important. Solarte and Johnson have both stunk over there this season. Plus, Headley was hitting .333/.333/.483 over his last 14 games prior to the trade. Small sample size, yes, but the timing directly coincides with his return from the epidural he received for his back injury. He's been banged up all year so if they got a 100% healthy Headley, there's a very good chance he's going to provide a big time offensive boost as well.
