Why does Collins insist on O'Flaherty? And putting him in such a difficult and tight situation?

He isn't consistent. You heard it, he's allowing a staggering .467 OBP vs righties, and hovering around .180's with lefties...

And yet you allow someone like Prado, who is a very consistent and talented hitter, pitch against him?

Ugh.

Another tough loss especially since I could sense a rally brewing...

Benching Goddell made me scratch my head. I really hope Collins isn't our head coach next year, I've said it so many times now, but he just isn't a good coach. We need a coach that knows the pitchers, and is aggressive and not willing to back down.

In a stunning turn of events, Matt Harvey arrived to the Mets clubhouse and told reporters that he’s always considered 180 innings a hard limit, and would not answer any questions about the playoffs.

Said Harvey, “I’m the type of person that never wants to put the ball down. But I hired Scott Boras, my agent, and went with Dr. Andrews, my surgeon, because I trusted them to keep my career going and keep me healthy.”

When Harvey was asked who would make the final call, he responded that he hired Boras for a reason and that’s “to prolong my career and put me in the best possible position.”

Harvey was emphatic about the 180 innings pitched saying that the 178 innings he pitched in 2013 was always considered the limit for this season. He says that is what Dr. Andrews conveyed to him and that is what he always believed.

Harvey better explain himself, or I'm hoping he gets a one way ticket out of the fucking Mets... We already have Thor, Matz, Wheeler, and DeGrom... I don't mind seeing Harvey shipped out for a nice bat..

I would really love the Mets fans or anyone in general to speak about this.

I'm really pissed. I hope we trade this ace pitcher who has no idea what a team is.

Skips the training to be away from the team in rehab, bitches about 6 man rotation, complains he got pulled early, then cries about 180 inning when he damn well knew for sure way BEFORE!

How does David Wright feel after coming back from a serious injury to hear about this?

EDIT: Just to make sure, there has absolutely been no direct quote from Dr. Andrews about any inning cap. But he has yet to place his final word, either way I'm done with Harvey. I mean Harvey literally might be our best pitcher, but a weak willed coward... Seaver would never say shit like this, and I'm disappointed and shameful enough to admit I once compared the two.
