I don't see what the if is about McCann. The guy is a monster.
All the others are legitimate concerns but the ones I'm most worried about are the infield and the bullpen. I don't have the slightest doubt that K-Rob can close but every other inning before the 9th will probably be an adventure. As good as Kelley was last season, he will never be a shutdown reliever because of how homerun prone he is. Outside of him, your next best reliever in Matt Thornton? Unless Phelps, Warren, and Betances step up big time, the bullpen will be problematic all season.
My infield concerns are not tied to Jeter at all. He looks completely recovered from that injury. I love Kelly Johnson but his ideal role would have been a super utility guy, not the everyday 3B. Brian Roberts is a ticking time bomb. Teix is recovering from one of the worst injuries a power hitter can get.
Completely forgot about Brian Roberts, guy's a veteran but is more injury prone than anyone...
Yeah the bullpen is an issue but I think it will be pretty average, don't see Robertson doing bad at all, like you said the 7-8th inning guys worry me too. I think Phelps can do a solid job in that department though.
And the McCann issue was more to him adjusting to a new team/park, not so much a numbers drop-off or injury risk.
If Pineda stays healthy and Tanaka rapes, I think our rotation is pretty darn solid barring another CC blow-up.
Not worried about the offense at all, they will score a lot of runs with that speed.
Not having Cano in the opening day lineup will be very odd though, and sad.
