OMG I had to change my briefs after that pitch. His fastball looked really good too. His breaking stuff looked pretty rusty though so I can't wait to see him in mid-season form.

Tanaka's splitter so filthy.

What are your guys' realistic expectations in his first full season in the Major's?

And what would you consider a success for Tanaka?

190-200IP / 3.2 - 3.3ERA/ 170SO / 14W.

With that ERA, I can see a few more wins but that would be amazing.

He will post a Kurdo-esque season I bet with a few more Ks. I might be a little high on the strikeouts but I bet the IP will be there.

Damn that was an impressive HR by Cervelli. Brought his hands in and muscled it to LCF.

I'm watching that splitter up top this page constantly and I'm just mesmerized by the way the bottom literally drops off the ball, didn't know his split was THAT good.

Many scouts call it the best splitter in the world and it's not hard to see why. I was disappointed with his slider and curve though, but there's plenty of time for him to get a feel for them again.

Saw the early parts of the game where CC started and Hirok came in but had to leave to go to a winery. How was his fastball velocity?
