I've always been a fan of Gardy. I like the deal. A lot of speed in left and center now.

Money wasn't the object when Cashman said that, I understood it as him not wanting 2 lead off hitters/outfielders

Who the hell knows what will happen with the Yankees outfield since it seems Gardner will be battling Ichiro for the last spot.

Gardner battling Ichiro? :rofl:

Ichiro will be battling just to win the 5th OF spot. The Yankees OF is very much set in stone at this point, barring injury. It's Gardner in LF, Jacoby in CF, and Beltran in RF. Soriano will DH and rotate in RF with Beltran to keep both fresh.

So assuming Godner will be injured (which he will), Jacoby will be injured (which he will), that means you need another 2 OFs to be able to keep Soriano and Beltran fresh.
