Haven't heard much about him other than his stats, is this guy for real?

Does he have Darvish talent?

He's very legit. He's not Darvish, but he has a mid 90's fastball and a put-away slider and splitter. He profiles as more of a #2 starter but 25 year old #2 starters just don't hit the market anymore and the Yankees are in dire need of young impact pitching.

Yeah, I'd say throw the bank at him. Didn't realize he was only 25 years old, guy would be great behind CC.

I'm drooling over how good our lineup can be if Jeter comes back 100% and Ells/Belt/Teix stay healthy.

omar infante would have been cheap and decent. But hey, lets sleep and sign a bunch of old injury prone has beens instead.  God knows the yankees aren't old enough.
makes perfect sense

Yeah a 4 year commitment to a guy who had a career year at age 31 would be much better investment. Lets completely ignore the fact that he wasn't even a league average hitter prior to last season and has a injury riddled history of his own.

So yeah, I originally said that Tanaka should be the #2 priority this offseason behind upgrading at catcher. Needless to say, Yankees need to go all out here. It's going to be a lot of money for a (relatively) unknown commodity but 25 year old pitchers of his caliber just don't hit the market these days. It's the Yankees own fault for not producing any young impact pitching should they need to overpay.

NEW YORK -- Alex Rodriguez is likely to find out in the next few days whether his drug suspension will be overturned.

People familiar with the case told The Associated Press on Friday that arbitrator Fredric Horowitz could issue his decision this weekend. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because no statements were authorized.
