Brady Aiken has drawn some buzz for sure but another guy the Astros may select number one overall next month is right-handed pitcher Tyler Kolek, a 6'5 and 250-pound, 100 MPH hard throwing high school senior from Shepherd, Texas high school. He's drawing comparisons to other hard-throwing Texans like Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens and Kerry Wood. Weight is an issue for him but he's also raw and would be a project. Carlos Rodon is the most MLB ready of the bunch.

A standing-room-only crowd had filled quaint Jasper Baseball Stadium and spilled into the parking lot along the left-field line and in the section between the bullpen and the bleachers on the first-base side to see Shepherd High's Tyler Kolek, whose 100-mph fastball has been compared with the Ryan Express, face Silsbee in a playoff game.
Ryan, who had made the 2 1/2-hour trip from Houston with Astros manager Bo Porter and bench coach Dave Trembley to scout Kolek, caused a buzz as he found a seat behind home plate. Even the grizzled scouts, who have been following Kolek all season, shuffled aside so that Ryan and the Astros contingent could sit on the front row.
Personally, I'd still like to have Carlos Rodon just because he has electric stuff (fastball, slider, curve) and he's a lefty.
