Is it me or is setbacks becoming a trend in this organization?

Yeah, seems like this team had been treadmilling in the mid-tier prospect ranking forever now.  Have a bunch of prospects breakout?  Let's have a shitty draft.  Have a great draft?  Have almost all your top prospects regress.

Talking about prospects, the anticipation to find out who this 'mid-level' prospect we're sending to the Chicago is killing me.

1:48pm: In an interview with Mike Ferrin and Jim Duquette on MLB Network Radio (audio link), Cubs GM Jed Hoyer called reports of a deal being near "very premature." Hoyer adds that there is "nothing close at all."

The Cubs have discussed Soriano with multiple teams, and Hoyer and Epstein plan to fly to Arizona to speak with the outfielder in order to gauge his interest in the teams that have inquired about him.

Ryan Braun was given a 65-game suspension on Monday for his involvement in the Biogenesis PED clinic and reports from ESPN have stated that the evidence against A-Rod is "far beyond" what Major League Baseball investigators had on the Brewers star. Rodriguez is presumably going to attempt to work out a deal with the commissioner's office, but if MLB has enough evidence it could look to push the 37-year-old third baseman out for good. There's much more to come.

ain't going to happen. Starting with the fact that the Union will not allow such precedent to be made, And Arod would fight it to hell, making all this peds talk problem prolong for a while, something that MLB does not want. It is bad for business.
