15 in a row retired. 7 strikeouts for McHugh now. 1 out in the top of the 8th. Barton had no chance.

The Astros are not going to risk the bullpen blowing a 5-0 lead.

Eric Sogard grounded out. 16 in a row retired... Come on McHugh, just get Coca Crisp out and finish 8 strong innings. He's at 103 total pitches thrown.

Yes. Crisp with a lazy pop fly to shallow left field.

1-hit shutout, 7 Ks over 8 innings for Collin McHugh.

5-0 Astros in the middle of the 8th.

thoroughly impressed with this outting. the A's are not an easy team to completely shut down like he has.

Collin McHugh may pitch the top of the 9th. The Astros have nobody warming up in the bullpen.
He's retired 17 Oakland hitters in a row so why take him out? He's at 105 pitches. Stretch him out.

McHugh is out there to start the top of the ninth. He'll probably be taken out by Bo Porter if he allows even one runner to get on base.

One down. He got Lowrie to fly out to Springer in right field. Wow... LOL. He's getting a standing ovation.

He needs two more outs...

Josh Donaldson flied out.

19 straight retired by Collin McHugh. He needs one more out for the complete game shutout.

Brandon Moss may have been hit on the back foot. Jeez. Officials reviewing it. That may end Collin McHugh's 19 straight retired.

They quickly rule it hit by pitch..

Ugh, he was so close to ending the game with 20 straight Oakland hitters retired.
