This is really sick, how they're this good already at such an early part of the "rebuild"

Like...the money we're going to have available in the coming year or two will be insane to build on top of this. And our crop of prospects coming up later this year and in the next few years....lawd

Plus 76ers just got the #1 pick...

fuck yes

JP Crawford promoted to triple A

B)

Half of the Phillies top 10 prospects - Crawford, Thompson, Williams, Appel, Knapp - are now in triple A.
10:46 AM - 20 May 2016

Can't come up soon enough. Pls no more Cesar bourjos and Howard.

His entire career up until now he had a 1:3 bb:k ratio. Do you really think he will continue the 1:1 ratio he has maintained through the huge sample size 20ish games you are using?

I might as well make a Sean Rodriguez MVP thread rofl.

Bro...his BABIP is really high and his line drive % actually went down 7% from last year lol. He is getting lucky.

Not saying he isn't good but he will regress.

Hey Geoff....

44 games into the season and Herrera is still rocking that 1:1 ratio with a .325 Avg and a .439 OBP.

His .439 OBP ranks #2 in all of MLB only behind Bryce Harper.

44 games wow. Put him in the HoF.

It isn't like players have never played really well for a 162 game season and then regressed back to Earth the next year or anything.

You said "20 game sample size"

now we have more than doubled that and he's still beasting getting on base and still has the second highest OBP in baseball...

Keep it moving KID

So we'll get 80 games into the season and he'll still be in the .400+ OBP range and you'll still be like "it's only half a season bro, relax"

He just said that guys have played insanely well for a whole year and fallen off extra hard, its an anomaly, it doesnt mean theyre a good player

Well I agree with that, I mean players fall off all the time.

Herrera doesn't look at all like a fluke though...last year he was a rookie, and after the All-Star break (234 At-Bats) he got on base around a .400 clip as a ROOKIE. He hit .300 AVG as a rookie on the season too.

This year he came into the season looking even better, and not only that but he has already drawn more walks this season (31) through 43 games than he did all of last season (28) through 147 games.

His plate discipline is unreal, he was such a diamond in the rough for the Phillies. A rule 5 draft pick.

Sure, he'll hit rough patches but I think in general we're seeing a player that is going to get on base at a high rate and makes for a nice piece to build with.
