Pineda averaged 93mph in his latest Extended Spring Training game. Cashman said he's an outing or so away from starting an official rehab assignment. So mid to late June is looking like a realistic target date for his Yankee debut.

Going to the sox/yanks game next week. I am stoked

Teix is starting a rehab assignment and is scheduled to be in Trenton on Tuesday and Wednesday. He expects to be activated after that.

Needless to say, his bat will be a HUGE boost against LHP.

Also, Nova was activated. He is being considered a reliever until further notice.

I fucking hate Teix.

This team desperately needs his bat. We're so awful against LHP and Teix still mashes against them(.865 OPS last season and .967 in 2011). It's when he's batting against RHP that he tries to pull EVERYTHING and is torture to watch.

If Phelps consistently gets the call on that inside fastball, he's going to have a good night. That's one of his best put-away pitches but the umpires didn't give it to him the last few times out.

I would have preferred they send nova down. At least there he can continue to work regularly and hopefully find his stroke again
