Michael Pineda pled no contest Wednesday to charges stemming from his August arrest for DUI in Tampa.

The Yankees’ right-hander received the minimum sentence for a first-time offender, including 12 months parole, 50 hours of community service, 10-day vehicle impoundment and a six-month license revocation. He also paid a $500 fine, plus court costs, according to a Hillsborough County Court spokesman.

Pineda, 24, has yet to pitch for the Yankees since being acquired from the Mariners last January in a trade for top catching prospect Jesus Montero. He had surgery to repair a torn labrum last May and the team hopes he is back by the middle of this season.

He was in Tampa to rehab the shoulder when he was pulled over at 2:35 a.m. on August 20 after police noticed him “weaving” and driving without his headlights on.

"I could smell a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, and his speech was slurred," the arresting police officer wrote about Pineda, whose blood-alcohol level was found to be .128 and .125 in two separate readings, according to police records.

Grandy to left just a trial? Heard conflicting reports that he'll be in both LF and CF for Saturday.

The fearsome catching tandem of Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart. I guess there's an outside chance of Romine making the team but he doesn't even have 50 games of experience above AA. The catching situation is what I'm dreading most going into the season.

Nope, they've seriously considered moving Grandy to LF and Gardner to CF. They aren't going to announce it outright but it could very well happen this season.

why wouldn't they move grandy to lf? gardner is the best cf'er on the team by a long shot

Makes sense, you put the guy that can cover the most ground in center field.

Our outfield is quick as hell though this season.

No more Andruw Jones and Swisher "running" down balls.
