if u say bautista was the instigator. ur crazy. he slides in. stands up. gets pushed. obviously ur going to get into a "ready stance" at that point. then he gets hit.

To me sucker punch means it came completely out of nowhere. In this scenario clearly there was a quick buildup that escalated beyond what Bautista thought it would. Fact is he pulled that slide knowing full well its not allowed anymore and its a straight up dirty play, thinking he could show how "tough" he is and that he's not gonna be bullied by a pitcher. Well he woke up the wrong motherfucker and got his face rearranged, LOL.

Yeah it was overkill, but for fuck's sake to call it a sucker punch is to say Bautista did not escalate the situation or expect revenge, which is just stupid. Talk shit, get hit.
