They want Grandy to left and Gardy to center which makes sense to me. Maybe they want to prepare Gardy as their center fielder for when Grandy goes(I don't think they will make a big offer to him, not with Cano's contract also coming due)

from Matthews, he reports that the Yankees will make qualifying offers to Nick Swisher and Hiroki Kuroda. Swisher will almost surely turn this offer down but Kuroda "might accept it." The Yankees have interest in bringing back Ichiro Suzuki and Raul Ibanez on short-term contracts, while the club also would like to re-sign Andy Pettitte and Russell Martin.

I hope Andy, hirok and Ichiro come back.

Ichiro on right, Gardy center, grandy left and Ibanez as backup.
