Then you would know that CFA doesn't stand for Certified Financial Analyst.

Don't try and get big when you're already wrong.

It's chartered not certified ... but the implication of both words means almost the same thing. .. you guys are arguing semantics

Financial planners get certified. Financial Analysts have to pass the exams and apply to a Charter to become Chartered.

One is a hell of a lot easier than the other.

CFA said to be the hardest designation in the world. I could do my CFP with just a high school diploma (certified financial planner)

Lol what. You're right I don't have any. I'm 22.
I've passed the CFA level 1 exam though, which is the furthest I can even go before I finish my degree. Passed it in my third year of university. I also can't start a CPA because I haven't finished school. (unless you count University accounting courses as progress towards the CPA)

Already completed the CSC which is in the CFP stream.

Havent lived with my parents for four years. Moved out after high school to go to university in Ottawa.

It shouldn't be a surprise that I don't have a designation. Haven't even finished my degree yet. I have one semester left. But lmk kid.

Do you have any idea what a CFA does?

Well they can do plenty of things... There's over 50 professions that tie directly to the CFA designation.

Portfolio manager, risk analyst, investment advisor, stock broker, sector analyst, trader.. Even work in the ethics department of a securities firm.

To name a few.

Why would I take the exams to become a Charter holder if I didn't know what it's used for? And if you're wondering how it ties to the CPA.. Financial statement analysis is a massive part of investing and risk analysis so having the CFA/CPA combo is incredibly valuable.
