Never had any strong feelings for or against this, but I'll support their decision. Give the man his 6/75 and pray. Gio Gonzalez would have been incredible, though.

Gio isn't worth the prospects you'd have to give up + he very likely wouldn't do too well in Texas

agree, i'm a big Gio fan. He's a few tweaks away from being a terrific pitcher.

Yeah, I do remember reading the price tag being extremely high. Either way, we had to make a big move to match the Angels.

the real question is:
if Darvish signs, which starter gets put in the pen?
Ogando?

Yeah, he's the only one with bullpen success (other than Feliz).

Tweaks? They would need to do major overhauling of his mechanics lol

no way man, i think he's 1-2 years away from being a consistent, solid #2
His walk rate will come down. CJ had a high walk rate until last year, then he finally matured. (well, this was probably b/c he was a reliever throwing 94-96 each outing)

Didn't realize Gonzalez had such a high walk rate. He's drawing a lot of attention, though.

What's the word on Danks? He's only under team control for one year... White Sox are most likely trading him.

Teams are going to pay for him as if he's a young ace but they're going to end up with a #3-4
