yea i was really impressed with both of them. especially liked how lee worked the count on all of his AB's.
reynolds is SO MUCH of an upgraded over tejada defensively its pretty lol.

Yup, all those reports about how terrible his defense sure look stupid so far.

I think he will come around with the bat soon. He has pretty good plate discipline for someone who strikes out so much. I think it may just be a matter of getting that first HR out of the way and then we will see him start to rake.

Jones on the other hand looks completely lost up there.

yea i honestly took about 10 minutes today to think about reynolds and my overall opinion on him. I agree with you.
Jones needs to talk to lee about patience (more). D lee could really be a tutor for jones.

I really don't think it is a trait that can be learned this late (plate discipline). He may improve it a little but it will always be bad. You can either recognize a pitch or you can't at the point he is at with his career.

i agree with you on that. but there is always room for learning.
he may not be able to learn plat discipline but if he comes into at bats with more understanding and recognition of the pitcher, than he can be more successful.

From what I have read he is more prepared this year than he has ever been in the past.

if the pitching keeps this up and Vladdy and Reynolds start hitting, could be a scary team

Reynolds is 2-3 with RISP and playing great defense. The one time he failed with a runner in scoring position the runner scored that inning. He isn't a part of the offensive woes thus far.

Just watched Buck's post game presser. I like how he pointed out D. Lee's at bat in the 1st and how we helped him out tremendously in the 2nd inning by not making him throw a lot of pitches again.
