I blame that douche.

Gotta admit, some of the worst managing I've seen from Wash..

But gotta give it to the Cards, was a hella good game.

Still don't understand IBBing Pujols and not bringing in a lefty for Berkman. Berkman is as good as Pujols when he's batting from the left side.

So I skipped night class to watch that tragedy last night, although epic.

I called in to work today, so they better not disappoint again :(

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have picked up Colby Lewis' option, and he will be back in their 2012 rotation. Closer Neftali Feliz could join him, potentially filling the spot created if C.J. Wilson signs elsewhere after becoming a free agent this week.

General manager Jon Daniels confirmed on Monday that the Rangers will discuss the possibility of moving Feliz into the rotation next season. Daniels said the club will make a final decision before Spring Training, and it wants to talk to Feliz about it before doing anything. Much also depends on what the Rangers might be able to do during the offseason.

But there appears to be a real strong possibility that Feliz will finally make the transition to starting pitcher in 2012...

...Lewis is back, Scott Feldman will get consideration as a starter after winning 17 games in 2009, and Eric Hurley, Neil Ramirez, Martin Perez, Tanner Scheppers and Robbie Ross lead the next wave of talented young Minor League arms who could arrive in Arlington in the next year or two.

But moving Feliz into the rotation could be both the best and the most cost-effective way of upgrading the rotation if the Rangers are not able to re-sign Wilson.

"There are still a lot of dominoes that have to fall," Daniels said. "The general feeling is he's capable of doing it. We know he can be a lockdown guy at the back end of the bullpen. We'll just have to wait and see."

If they don't resign CJ, I wonder who they will go after for a new closer? I'm liking the possibility of a young prospect filling that 5th spot.

The Rangers have granted permission to both the Cubs and the Red Sox to speak to pitching coach Mike Maddux about their managerial openings.

The Red Sox are looking for a manager to replace Terry Francona, who was dismissed at the end of the regular season. The Cubs job came open on Wednesday when new president of baseball operations Theo Epstein informed Mike Quade that he would not be returning.

"Mike is in a key role for us and has had a prominent hand in our success the past few years," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. "But this is a unique opportunity to discuss a coveted position with two storied franchises, and we believe in allowing our people to pursue opportunities that they're interested in. It reflects well both on Mike and our organization that he's under consideration."

Maddux said during the playoffs that he would be interested in managing, but these opportunities came unexpectedly. Maddux is at home in Las Vegas and unable to speak because of laryngitis but was able to comment by computer in a conference call with reporters on Thursday.

"I'm humbled to find how highly some other organizations feel about me," Maddux said. "It's come upon our family and me quickly. Just last week we were in the World Series and managing another club was not on the game plan."

The timing on any job interviews depends on how soon Maddux recovers from laryngitis. But he is hoping to meet with both teams at some point next week.

"This puts a little delay on everything," Maddux said. "Both teams and I plan to set up meeting times based on my recovery ... unbelievable to hear both those two teams have interest. Both are storied franchises, full of tradition, ballparks are shrines and they have great fans year after year."

It looks like their letting him decide what would be best for him given his recent opportunities. And if that is staying with the Rangers,
I'm sure they'll welcome him back with open arms.
