Yeah, coming into this series, everyone was talking about our pitching.

Now it's the offense that is putrid.

Funny how baseball works. Oh, and the bullpen has spotless too (5 IP 2 H 6 K)

Yeah, Robertson looked great, a little worried with Soriano though. That line drive right to Nix was lucky for that double play, would have given the O's the lead.

It's good that the bullpen is very well rested though, starters doing work. Hopefully Philthy comes through tonight.

I think it was just rust. Command gets a little shotty after a week of not pitching, still waiting for untuck #1 though

Well, I liked our chances to hit Chen but that didn't work out to well, now I like our chances to hit Saunders...

Yikes!

We've always pooped on Saunders though. He has a career ERA around 6 against the Yankees. http://www.baseball-reference.com/play-index/batter_vs_pitcher.cgi?pitcher=saundjo01#gotresults&pitcher=saundjo01&min_year_game=2005&max_year_game=2012&post=1&opp_id=NYY&bats=any&opponent_status=&c1criteria=&c1gtlt=eq&c1val=0&c2criteria=&c2gtlt=eq&c2val=0&orderby=PA&orderby_dir=desc&orderby_second=Name&orderby_dir_second=asc&ajax=1&submitter=1&z=1

he also was 0-6 with 9.xx ERA at rangers. look what happened.
Stats are meaningless.
We won't win if our hitters don't make him work. Grandy, cano and Arod need to stop swinging at everything

Derek Jeter DH
Ichiro Suzuki LF
Mark Teixeira 1B
Robinson Cano 2B
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Nick Swisher RF
Russell Martin C
Curtis Granderson CF
Jayson Nix SS

Arod finally dropped down the order, but he provides no protection there to Cano. And sucks we have to DH Jeter.

Rootin for Joe tonight, impressed that he's held it together so far after his dad's passing.

yeah. We like to rip him apart, but forget he is human too. Hopefully the team win it for him tonight so he can get a few days off and be with his family.

when he said "for the first time in 20 somethin years my mom and dad get to watch a game together" you can see how tough it's been on him but i love that attitude
