Astros win 6-2 and end their 15-game losing streak which carried over from last season. 1-0 to start the 2014 season. Scott Feldman looked good in his Astros debut. He tossed a two-hit shutout over 6.2 innings. He's not the type of pitcher to give up many home runs and he keeps most of his outs on the ground. Jarred Cosart makes the start tomorrow night. He's a groundball pitcher just like Scott Feldman is so hopefully they can tame the Yankees again. The Astros infield defense is pretty solid. They made several nice plays tonight.

The meatball he served up to Jesus Guzman was belt high. Just the way he likes it.

The YES Network's score overlay must have been wrong. It was already 2-0 (Altuve and Castro had RBIs) when Guzman hit a two-run shot to make it 4-0.

I'm pretty sure he did as the game went on. CC Sabathia surprised me. He pitched a lot better as the game went along.
The first two innings giving up six earned runs did him in. He pitched six innings. 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. 8 hits allowed.

I think the Astros can beat the Yankees again tonight. The Yankees have never seen Jarred Cosart before and he's a groundball pitcher just like Scott Feldman is. Their hitters looked confused by Feldman's movement last night. Only two hits allowed in 6.2 innings.

Just a matter of whether or not the Astros will score enough runs against Hiroki Kuroda. In ten starts as a rookie last year Cosart dazzled with a 1.95 ERA (.220 batting average against) but he was only 1-1 with 8 no-decisions because he got the fewest run support in all of baseball. On a good team he maybe goes 10-0 last year.

The first pitch yesterday. I thought Nolan Ryan was going to throw a 90 MPH strike to Biggio. LOL

90 minutes until the second game. Hearing those shows are funny.
