You're trying to use Yu Darvish's performance against the Astro's in one game to try and see how good Felix is based off of his one game against the Astro's...Just stop...

Because there isn't much sample size for me to judge anything beyond that. I believe both pitchers are among the best in the game. I'll use the same logic when the Astros face Justin Verlander, likely twice, coming up in the next few weeks. It's called being a new American League team. I haven't seen a lot of these guys before that closely. I'm a little more familiar with the Rangers because of the yearly Lonestar series before this season.

There isn't much sample size? Felix has been pitching for 9 years, so has Verlander. You're trying to say that Felix and Verlander could be as good as Yu, who only has 1 full season, because they play one game against the Astro's. How is that logic?
Seriously, Ryan, get off the crack.

You're misinterpreting what I'm trying to imply. But if the 6-14 Astros defeat the 8-14 Mariners later this afternoon, winning their second series of the season (both against Seattle), there shouldn't be any confusion as to who the worst team in the American League West is right now.

It would still be the Astros...LOL

And I understand you are trying to say Yu is up there with Felix, but that and how you're trying to do it is still stupid.

You want substance?

Its only April and you are already abandoning ship like some 10 year old Redsox fan. You should have already had expectations set that this is yet another growing pains year. Sit back and watch to see if the players can develop.

I'm tired of listening to you pussy ass "Mariners fans" bitch and moan about the young players. Yes it's frustraiting that it appears all is the same, but it's still April.

Smoak has been hitting more line drives so far which could be contributed to his new swing, though it's close enough to his norm that it could be just variance in stats. His k rate has been climbing as of recent which is a bit alarming, but it's still a very small sample size and his outside the zone swing % is lower than it used to be. His babip is still right at .300 there are positive signs here, it's too early to tell if his new swing does not mean something, or if he is just a bum who got a fancy jacket.

Ackley's hit tools are too good for him to continue to get unlucky. His zone swing%'s are good suggesting he has the good hitters eye like he was scouted for, he has been making lots of contact 93% contact rate inside the zone, he has been hitting lots of line drives with a 19% ld rate, but his babip is only .240 So to sum up on Ackley, he has a great eye, good contact rates, and hits line drives. He is doing what you want, the hits will fall.

Montero is 23 with lots of power, I don't give a fuck if his defense isn't that great, he is improving and he is still better than Rob Johnson. His potential bat makes him worth starting for now. There is no way in hell I want to watch Kelly Shoppach be behind the plate, and I don't want to see Zunino lose our on cheap team control so we can win a few games but still have it mean dick because we all know we aren't going to make the playoffs, and never should have had that expectation going into the season.

I would rather be bad with giving our young players a chance to continue to improve than to let old faggots like Raul, Kelly, and Bay take over the line up and produce just as poor. I don't really like Eric Wedge either, but not because he is playing the young guys. I don't like him because he won't stop playing Raul in the Of.

When I have the time I will respond to this completely, but I am no fair weather fan, and where am I abandoning ship, and these players aren't rookies.

Your comment about it being sad the games don't matter suggests you had high hopes and are ditching them. Maybe I just mis-interpreted you, but that was the vibe I was getting. The same vibe all the radio stations pump out in mass quantities.

I never said they were rookies, they are very young players still though. Smoak is in his last year of patience for me though, unless he shows significant differences. His career has started similar to Michael Young. Once he hit his 26 year old season he started to hit, .780 ops. That is this year for Smoak.

Ackley and Montero though are both very very young. We don't need to change on them.

I don't fucking understand why we keep playing Raul at all

He keeps losing us games non stop. Making easy plays in the OF turn to shit. His bat is even worse now...I don't mind using him as a pinch hitter but definitely should not be fucking starting just because there is a RHP on the mound...
