Looked like an amazing atmosphere at the game. LOL, all those fireworks being used for every home run -- if they have any left after the World Series the way Nelson Cruz is hitting. Watch him hit another three or four (will be tough to match 6) against the Cardinals or Brewers.

With his two-run shot in the Rangers' ALCS clinching victory, Nelson Cruz set the record for most home runs in a postseason series.

Nelson Cruz 6 TEX 2011 ALCS
Reggie Jackson 5 NYY 1977 WS
Chase Utley 5 PHI 2009 WS
Ken Griffey Jr. 5 SEA 1995 ALDS
Juan Gonzalez 5 TEX 1996 ALDS

Cruz's six home runs and two doubles in the series left him one shy of the LCS record of nine extra-base hits by the Yankees' Hideki Matsui in 2004 against the Red Sox.

"I feel like the last few games I felt better every day," Cruz said amid the celebration in the Rangers' clubhouse. "Even today my timing was better. I was able to drive the ball the other way. This is amazing. It's a great group of guys. [Manager Ron] Washington did his job when he brought in relievers. Everything worked."

I remember when Carlos Beltran went wild and had an amazing 2004 postseason with the Astros. That is how I best compare such a hot postseason streak.

He batted .435 with 8 home runs, 14 runs batted in and six steals in 12 games, against Atlanta and St. Louis. One game shy of reaching the World Series that year.

Fucken pissed me off when they failed to re-sign Carlos Beltran and Jeff Kent that following winter. They got swept by the White Sox in the 2005 World Series and all four games were so damn close. No doubt Beltran and Kent would have made the difference in winning a game or two, maybe even the series.

And last year's Rangers loss to the Giants was tough to see. I really hope the Rangers win it all this time. This is a great chance to do it and no telling how many they will get. Speaking of the past, I remember when Juan Gonzalez hit those 5 home runs for Texas in the 1996 ALDS. He was such a beast. I never thought anybody would top his performance until last night.
