They're actually starting him still? Cool, I thought they would have him simulate in lieu of the actual game if it got rained out.

And didn't phelps pitch sunday for like 2 innings?

Because Philbert is an inning away from matching his career high in innings that he hit 2 years ago. He was due for some extra rest.

IIRC Phelps threw an inning, so it was about the equivalent of a bullpen session. Pretty sure Sunday would have been his throw day anyways on a starters schedule.
