He has every right to be mad; Maddon has made a lot of stupid decisions but this goes far and away beyond all of them "to try to be different". He doesn't deserve to be a manager after this game.

There is ZERO reason Stropp should have been batting there. He's already pitched 2 innings and most importantly the bases were loaded with one out in extra innings and there's only a one-run lead with two solid hitters sitting on the bench in Schwarber and La Stella.

Edit: Maddon also made another stupid decision earlier in the 7th or 8th when the bases were loaded and 1 out and he pinch hit Contreras and then pinch hit Zobrist. I know Zobrist struck out as well but it made ZERO sense to send out a guy who strikes out 3x more than Zobrist first before going to the guy they should have gone to in the first place in that situation when there was 1 out.

So baez bunts in the 10th and ur mad

no I'm not mad about that although that was pure luck.

maddon's decisions are under scrutiny and rightfully so. he has regressed as a manager.

He is still immune to scrutiny imo. He won a world series here.

He's always been a clubhouse manager and never been a great managerial decision maker and terrible in games and even in the World Series run he had some terrible decisions; he just got lucky the players outperformed his mistakes or there'd be a different manager already. You can hand pick anyone and put them at manager of this team and it will still win 90+ games. There's just too much mojo with the young guys and Maddon just happen to fall into the lap of a huge pool of talent.

He must pick every lineup out of a hat because it's never the same; he's just lucky there's too much talent on this team because with most teams that doesn't work.

They pay him far too much money to make stupid managerial mistakes.

I doubt he returns next year.

have you looked at the talent on the team? anyone can manage them and win 100 games!

well next year is the last year of his contract I don't think they'll give him an extension TBH

There’s a lot of regression on this team

look at all these players season stats from last year or two years and tell me if they're better this year:
Contreras - nope
Happ - nope
Bryant - ok injured but games he's in not better
Russell - a BIG no. look at 2016 to now
Almora - tossup
