What happened to 2015-16 maddon?

Why in the 10th inning when your offense has STRUGGLED to score you get a leadoff walk why would you not bunt? Maybe try for a sac fly?

Not where I would have hit Murphy but it's worked so far. Eventually would like to see him slide into the two hole where that bat control can play some hit & run and be even more deadly.

Just think him in the two hole would open up a lot of 1st innings if the lead-off guy gets on; there could be a lot of 1st & 3rd no one out situations leading off games.

Him and Zobrist are about the only two hitters I trust on the Cubs roster to protect a base runner in a hit & run.

He has every right to be mad; Maddon has made a lot of stupid decisions but this goes far and away beyond all of them "to try to be different". He doesn't deserve to be a manager after this game.

There is ZERO reason Stropp should have been batting there. He's already pitched 2 innings and most importantly the bases were loaded with one out in extra innings and there's only a one-run lead with two solid hitters sitting on the bench in Schwarber and La Stella.

Edit: Maddon also made another stupid decision earlier in the 7th or 8th when the bases were loaded and 1 out and he pinch hit Contreras and then pinch hit Zobrist. I know Zobrist struck out as well but it made ZERO sense to send out a guy who strikes out 3x more than Zobrist first before going to the guy they should have gone to in the first place in that situation when there was 1 out.
