its not that i dont think hes good. i just dont think sale is as good as his asking price.

i still have some injury/fatigue concerns with his gumby-like body. he looks like hes been living in northwest africa and is underfed.

he puts together solid streaks, but they always seem to be towards the beginning of the year and to me it seems he tends to fade a little as the season goes on. plus im not huge on some of his locker room antics.

all of this aside, hes a great player and id love him on the cardinals. i just wouldnt give up alex reyes and 2+ of our other top prospects for him.

the red sox have a plethora of young talent and high end prospects where they can afford to make that trade and have it make sense. the cardinals dont. im ok with it.

that deal makes him more expensive, and in my eyes makes him not a target for the cardinals. theyd have to give up too many futures that hes just worth imo. the sox could afford it though.

so are the cardinals gonna go through another offseason without making any moves? worked last year.

we dont need to mortgage the future in a trade, but i expected us to go after an OF (fowler/desmond/eaton/cain/etc) and possibly even an infielder like turner.

im hearing about zero noise from the cardinals.
