Any chance Miller isn't the closer?

Sure, there's a possibility. Miller is a Grade-A guy and won't pout or complain about moving to the 8th inning. Miller is obviously the best reliever in Cleveland but there's still a lot of value in not having him handcuffed to the 9th inning and using him in a fireman/setup role.

Prolly late but I just got back from Chicago..

Lucroy is a fucking idiot; complains about wanting to be out of Milwaukee and onto a contender and then vetoes going to a team that could contend for the next couple years. Indians are also dumb if they couldn't guarantee that Lucroy would start next year over Gomes. Why the fuck would a team not start Lucroy he's one of the top 5 catchers in baseball.

Also, the Yankees got more for Chapman than they did for Miller.. Torres has a little more value than Frazier imo or they're very close to equal. Sorta pissed that the Cubs didn't go after Miller instead..

Nah, I think Yankees got more in the Miller deal. While Torres and Frazier are similar talents, the former is MUCH closer to the big leagues. There's a lot of risk in a 19 year old still in A ball. As much as I love Warren, the secondary pieces in the Cleveland deal are better as well. I'm a huge Sheffield fan(he would be a top 5 pitching prospect in baseball if he was 3-4 inches taller), plus we got a reliever that throws 100mph and is ready to step into the MLB pen.

another one going down?

Bill Shaikin @BillShaikin
I'm told Grant Holmes is "messing around" if he's hugging folks at Rancho.

Oh I know Frazier is much closer to the bigs but Torres is a stud.. Mckinney was also in the top 7 prospects on a semi deep farm system; although I don't see him being a big major league piece; Warren is a serviceable swingman and the other guy was just schmuck.

The narrative that the Yankees are "straddling the line" buying and selling cracks me up. Nothing wrong with admitting selling. They got some great pieces for the future.

There is no reason for the Yankees to go out and announce that they're sellers. All it does is give them less leverage in trades.

You act like trading away two elite relief arms for minor league prospects isn't basically announcing they are sellers.

They also got two MLB bullpen arms back via trade in Warren and Clippard. Obviously they're not Chapman and Miller but it's not a full bore sell-off. They're still going to attempt to field a competitive team.

They would be stupid not to go all out selling.

If I were a Yankees fan and they kept Beltran I'd be furious.

So why didn't/aren't the Braves pursue(ing) Puig?
They keep saying they desperately needed a RH power bat that can also play corner outfield...

HELLLOOO.

Dude has more power than a silverback and four times Kemp. What more power do you need?
