So you're saying in 130 games, you don't think he's going to get 10 more saves? When he already has 11 saves in the first 32 games?

I mean i'm sure there's going be some dark times, it's a long season. But this guys stuff looks great....

His career numbers suggest he can't keep up this pace.

And 18 hits in 18 innings isn't that good lol.

Because guys don't hit their prime age (he's 28) and have career turn arounds or anything right? He's getting it done, that's all we know.

Not saying he's the next big thing, because Hector Neris could (our likely future closer) end up stealing the closer role lol. Wouldn't surprise anyone if Gomez gets traded at some point this year for further prospects considering the high prices for closers..


Neris has been filthy this season himself, 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 28 K's and just 6 BB's in 20 Innings. Definitely has closer stuff and could very well be our closer by seasons end. But for now, Gomez is getting the job done very well and that's that.
