Surprised we won, i was thinking to myself earlier today when we would win the next game lol

Marlins beat the Royals 1-0 in 10 innings and the White Sox beat the Tigers 4-3 in 11 innings.

1. Astros 38-80
2. Marlins 45-73
3. White Sox 46-72

So we didn't even lose ground. We're still running away with the first pick. But had we lost tonight we could have been 8 ahead in the loss column.
Only 44 games left now. Keep knocking them down. One day closer to the off-season. I feel good. We can afford to win a game or two.

Marlins and White Sox already finished their game today. White Sox lost 6-4 but the Marlins won 5-2. Nice.

All we have to do is lose to the Athletics tonight and we'll have that 8 game lead with 43 games left. No way we'll win tonight after we won 5-4 last night. The Athletics are too good of a team to lose two games in a row to the Astros. But with that being said it will be a good pitching matchup: Jarred Cosart (1-0, 1.36 ERA) versus Jarrod Parker (8-6, 4.04 ERA).

Jarred Cosart has been amazing in 5 starts (making his 6th tonight) but he has 4 straight no-decisions because a lack of run support and a bad bullpen. We'll probably reach 81 losses tonight. I want to lose a lot in the next two weeks so we can clinch the first pick, and still have a good September and finish strong once a few more prospects are called up on September the 1st.

Another solid pitching performance for the talented Jarred Cosart: 6 innings pitched tonight, 0 earned runs on 3 hits.

He threw 99 pitches and actually lowered his ERA from 1.36 to 1.15, and he's improving in his strikeout-to-walk ratio (4-1 tonight). He's an elite groundball pitcher that usually pitches to contact and not a high strikeout guy though. Even though his 95 MPH cutter has some real strikeout potential.

The Astros briefly gave Jarred Cosart a 1-0 lead in the top of the 7th so he qualified for the win, but they foolishly took him out before the bottom of the 7th started and Philip Humber gave up a run. The Athletics tied it up 1-1 in the bottom of the 7th off Humber and now the game is tied 1-1 in the top of the 9th.

So Cosart is about to receieve a 5th straight no-decision, still stuck on a 1-0 record despite pitching well enough to be 6-0 after tonight. His 1.15 ERA tells you all you need to know about the kid. Even worse, I do believe in a couple more starts, Cosart will have used up his rookie eligibility for 2013. He will not be able to win the 2014 AL rookie of the year award. But I'm hoping Mark Appel, George Springer or Jonathan Singleton do that anyways.

I'm just waiting for the Athletics to pull out the win tonight. It's tied 1-1 in the 9th inning. Great job for Cosart yet again.

Altuve is going to lose that bet. LOL

We're going to finish with the worst record in baseball for a third straight year, much less finish with a better record than the Mariners.

We should have let Jarred Cosart pitch the 7th inning tonight. He's thrown 115 pitches in a game before. But I guess around 100 pitches is usually the time he's been coming out. His pitch count through six MLB starts so far: 99, 100, 99, 109, 115 and 96. The Astros are probably just being cautious because this is the most amount of baseball he has played in a year.

Cosart is so good. His cutter is becoming a great go-to pitch. If he ever becomes a high strikeout guy he's going to become a future all-star starting next season. Technically, he doesn't have to rack up a lot of K's to do that. If he produces a great ERA that is among the best in baseball people will catch on to him.

As of now, I project him to be our future number three starter for many years to come. Mark Appel and Carlos Rodon, who we will likely draft number one next June, both have ace-like potential and can record a lot of strikeouts. So I believe their ceiling will be higher than Jarred Cosart.

1-1 game in the bottom of the 9th. Time for Oakland to produce a walk-off win.

If this game goes to extra innings that would be just perfect.

1-1 game going to the top of the 10th and it's about to be midnight here in Houston.

Nice. I can watch the Astros lose twice on my birthday.

Happy bday bro, inb4 we win.

Marlins won 5-2 and White Sox lost 6-4, but we can still afford some fluke wins and still clinch the #1 pick.

LOL, but I doubt we will score. Just a matter of when Oakland will score to win. But you're right, I'd like to see the Astros win.

Typical Astros. batted around for about 10 minutes in the top of the 10th but failed to score a run.

OMG. Robbie Grossman just robbed Chris Young of a walk-off, two-out home run in the bottom of the 10th.

He leaped over the wall to snag it. Two nights in a row Chris Young is denied of the walk-off homer. Last night by half an inch left of the foul pole.

Going to the top of the 11th. LOL
