That slide doesn't happen anymore though because it's outlawed.

The fact he even tried it in the first place shows you his intent.

To be fair, Bautista looked like he was winding up...well, sorta. He looked like he was going to do the good old "i'll fuck you up" routine then just chest bump the other guy till his teammates grab him and hold him back, etc.
