Roberts, Markakis, Lee, Reynolds, Scott, Jones wouldn't be the worst top 6 in the league I guess ... far from good though.

Priorities should now be.

1) Re-sign Koji
2) Sign Derrek Lee
3) Trade for JJ Hardy
4) Sign a reliever to replace DH
5) Sign Sherrill as left specialist

agree with all that.
I would also like if they would add a formidable UTIL player. So tired of having a shitty UTIL bench player

I don't think it really matters. Andino can play SS, 2B, 3B. Fox can play 1B, 3B, C, LF, RF. I think we should just have Andino, Fox, Reimold/Pie, and Tatum on the bench.

Rays and O's were talking Bartlett for similar package that went to Dbacks for Reynolds. Rays still hoping to work something out there.

I guess that means we would need to give up Johnson or Berken + someone like LeBron or Pelzer in the minors? If that's the case no thank you I'd rather trade those guys for Hardy.

i'd rather not trade any of them for him. Why trade for a guy who has 1 year left, when Machado may be up in a year or two anyway.
If they cant get a SS for scraps then im starting to think we just resign izzy a year. Fuck it, we dont have enough depth to be trading away all these RP

The official vM thoughts on the Reynolds trade.

Mickolio -Inconsistency at it's finest. One night he will look like unhittable and the next night he can't throw the ball over the plate. He has the stuff to become an above average reliever and possibly a closer but I don't know that he ever will become one.
Hernandez - Okay as a starter until the 5th / 6th inning before he got tired and would get shelled. Great reliever throwing 98-100mph. I was at Arrieta's first game when DH closed it out by throwing a fastball every pitch, never will forget the dominance he displayed in that game. He has the stuff to be a dominant reliever and I will miss him.

Reynolds - Great power, great discipline (check his pitches per AB and the amount of walks before you start with the strikeouts), lots of strikeouts (but hey wouldn't you rather a strikeout then a double play? [have to try to be positive here]), has really come along with his defense and is an average fielder now (maybe he can get even better), his .198 average was a fluke I doubt he hits lower than .230, he gets on base a lot, he works the count good.

Overall I love the trade. We lost our future closer but you have to give talent to get talent. Reynolds is an above average 3B and by far the best one that we had any real shot at getting. He isn't the great middle of the order hitter we have longed for but he is a hell of an upgrade over Wigginton/Tejada/Bell.

reynolds looked like shit last year... he really just was horrible near the end there.. i mean more strikeouts than your average holy fuck

theres no way he can have anywhere near that bad of a year... and hopefully he changes things up after that embarrassment.. i SEE a ~.250 year for him with 20 homers

I would trade them for Hardy but not for Bartlett. They both had bad offensive years last year (still much better than Izzy though) but Hardy is a better defensive shortstop.
