Agreed. BUT Kapler was really shitty with lineups and making terrible in-game decisions for 2 years.

Kapler inherited a team that had lost 96 games their prior season, the team's sixth season in a row with a losing record. He had the second-most wins among Phillies managers historically after 100 games (56), and under Kapler, the 2018 team improved its end-of-season won-lost record by 14 games, to 80–82. In 2019 he managed the team to an 81–81 record, Philadelphia’s best record since 2012.

I just think the La Russa style of micro managing every situation just rubs folks the wrong way. Especially when a team doesn't meat expectations.

It was reported by Jayson Stark that his game lineups were made by the FO before games.

The team was really injured but it didn't seem like he was helping us win any games.

2 shit ass closes to end the season, it was time for him to go.

Those other years were rebuild year. the front office has been total garbage at scouting and what not, but you can't sign a guy for 330mil and then proceed to improve by 1 win with yet another late season collapse.

With the amount of big off-season acquisitions the Phillies made, they were a whole lot more talented than before.

You can't go into free agency and sign THREE guys that were All-Stars the season prior (Realmuto, Harper, Segura) as well as several other former All-Stars and underachieve like that.
