he could lose 2B and i agree Trout is probably the safer pick. In my league its 10 games this year or last for position eligibility. I could see him getting another 10 games there. I might just try to trade up and get Betts and not sweat the choice. Thoughts on my 5th pick?
I don't see him playing 2nd anymore is the issue but I'd definitely take him two if I knew he would be; they only moved him to make room for Donaldson. Coincidentally, that's when his numbers took a shit; otherwise, he would have destroyed Betts total points if it wasn't for his last 2 months. He'll be back at 3rd full time. Unfortunately, 3rd is so stacked right now that it's not a huge drop off in production between like 7 guys.
To me, the only lock in Baseball right now is Trout and you can pencil him in for the same numbers every year. Otherwise, you're banking on potential but even that has a chance to go south (ie; Correa among others). Betts could easily revert back to his 2017 (and I don't expect another year like he had last year; but he still should be good). It's REALLY hard to hit .340 every year. I wouldn't trade up just to draft Betts
Although SS is pretty stacked right now as well; I would probably lean towards Lindor mainly because he's gonna provide you more SB's along with the potential to .300/30. Like Odell said, I don't think we've seen the best of Bregman yet either but 3b is so damn stacked. Ignoring Ramirez/Bregman; there's Bryant, Arenado, Rendon, Vlad Jr, Devers, not to mention Machado will end up there as well eventually. Chapman and Suarez are also solid bats if you miss out on any of the other 7.
I would consider leaning towards Acuna at 5 in my opinion; you're getting the potential of a .300/30+/25+ to fill out all every stat. Trout/Betts/Ramirez/Lindor/Acuna are pretty much the only 5 players in Baseball that have that shot at .300/30+/25+. Bregman and everyone else; you're going to be losing out on a bunch of SB's.
