Pretty interesting story. For me, it brings to light the fact that becoming a successful baseball player is different than in football (especially QB).
In order for a team to put you as their starting QB in the NFL, there are certain qualities you need to have. You either have them or you don't, it's almost like god-given talent. Whereas being successful in baseball is much more about the effort a player puts in every day. All the NFL coaches and GMs decided that Tebow didn't have the necessary tools to be a viable starter. But in baseball he certainly has the opportunity to outwork everyone and earn a roster spot.
Your comparison is god awful. For starters Tebow could have been in the NFL for longer than he was if he wasn't stubborn and would have switched positions. And if their was Minor League Football he'd probably could compete at the QB level there. If there was AAA, AA, A football leagues, he certainly could start at QB for a A football team. But there isn't that option. He's only starting at A baseball right now. Sure that should be considered an accomplishment, but chances he moves higher than AA are very unlikely, let alone the Major League Level.
Saying baseball players don't have 'god-given talent' is ridiculous.
