Pretty light punishment considering the guy got 3 years in jail that did it

I see what you are saying, but less of a light punishment for cards and more of a overly heavy punishment for him. Just my opinion.

It's a pretty heavy punishment when you count for the $2million in bonus pool money; they won't be able to sign any rookies in the amateur draft or sign anyone internationally either. Not to mention the 2 picks that weren't just taken but also given to the other team.

doesn't even really punish the cardinals either, 2 picks (i think they're like what, 56 and 75?) might help the astros but that hurts the league (especially the AL West) just as much as it does St Louis at that point. Sure they lose the picks but they play houston what, every 4 years now?

does just as much damage to the rangers/mariners/A's and angels as it does st louis

You take a teams bonus pool money away which is what they practically did and give it to the other team; you're setting the Cardinals back an entire year of being able to draft international players. That's a pretty fair penalty and the Astros got the picks to offset it; the $ has to be given with the picks to actually be able to have a chance at signing those players since they're the ones who got their entire database with scouting information and such taken.

Not sure what you don't see fair about that?
