Which a failed pickoff is technically a steal; however, yes it was definitely Ruiz's fault for not holding that ball for another second to make sure he was actually going back to the base. He was already literally half way through the baseline.

It had to have been a missed sign by Lester or stupid baserunning that happen to work out on Baez's part if it was suppose to be a safety squeeze. More than likely the latter because if it was a missed sign from Lester and it was suppose to be a suicide squeeze; Baez would have been sprinting. He just got lucky but it was great instincts to fake back to 3rd and sprint home.

guy is a machine
